Closed local pizza place lives on through former owner's home cooking

WINNEBAGO, Ill. — A closed local pizza restaurant has new life through its former owner’s cooking.

Former Anna’s Pizza and Pasta owner Brian Weavel is selling pizza and pasta sauce made from Anna’s recipe to help locals warm up during the winter.

This comes over six years after Anna’s closed its doors in Winnebago.

Weavel said he would be selling the sauce in 3-and-a-half cup freezable containers for $5 each.

Weavel was planning to have sauce pick up on Friday but rescheduled it for Monday due to predicted severe weather. Pickup on Monday will be between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
