    That is definitely really stupid.

Yo dawg, we heard you like dumplings. So, we put dumplings in your dumpling.

Khinkali are basically Georgian soup dumplings, and they are so good. This just seems like a waste of dough. Just order them normally! They are boiled, not steamed.

I’m 100% certain there are even smaller ones inside, and even smaller ones inside the small ones, ad infinitum.

looks like one of those old school style ice packs that you put on your head

  6. Carcosa_Hearty1986

I hope they’re stuffed with progressively smaller dumplings.

No dumplings inside the mini dumplings? This is BULLSHIT!

the amount of food/drinks that exist for being filmed instead of enjoyed is a real bummer

I, for one, will stick with the excellent local restaurants near me.

This is a missed opportunity to just have a whole bunch of tiny dumplings inside and a lot of soup.

Those are Georgian Dumplings called Khinkali stuffed into a big one as a gimmick. Stupid Food as a whole but the small dumplings inside are the actual treat.

Basically a soup dumpling with meat, herbs and broth. Delicious.

This is a very khinkhali inception. Looks fun, and I’m sure it’s amazing! If you don’t know anything about it, you should be quiet rather than call it stupid.

  14. It looks cold, and he had to do way too much sawing to cut through it with that knife.

Never understood the appeal of dumplings; I imagine this would feel like chewing wet rubber.

I’m goin to make a restaurant where you do this and it’s held inside a skull and then you have to feed the dumpling to the skull to cook it like a hot pot. Hannibal Lector BBQ and Hot Pot themed.

  17. I hate the “Waiter cuts thing for you” trend

Thought I would shed some light on this. Dumplings inside dumplings or dough inside dough has been practiced for at least 4,000 years, maybe longer. Records appear from Georgia to Sibera to Eastern China. In most cases it would be ceremonial, the dough would be torn off in strips and eaten with a bowl of dumpling filling, similar to tortillas or naan. Similar practices existed throughout the Mediterranean with pasta. Julius Caesar was served something similar (pasta inside pasta) upon assuming the title of Proconsul (governor).

As a further note, dumplings allegedly are juicer when prepared this way but no studies have taken place and the placebo effect may be the only force in play.

Colder climates appear to be the only location this was done for a practical purpose. Due to uneven heating, dumplings would be cooked inside of a doughy shell. The shell acted as an oven, ensuring even heat inside. The shell also served to insulate the dumplings from freezing during transportation and consumption. Often the shell was quite burned and discarded after all dumplings were consumed.

Once in Taipei, we had these giant soup dumplings that were as big as the bowl. It was so delicious.😋

    MEEEE UNGGGHH 💦💦

Edit: FUCK I THOUGHT THAT BIG DUMPLING WAS GONNA BE FULL OF DELICIOUS SOUP AND MEAT. I’m so disappointed I could cry. I’ll still eat the little ones though

This is a Georgian dish called Khinkali! 🇬🇪

Well the concept of meat in the middle and Dough outside boiled is not from georgia but the combination of spicies etc is definitely

A dumpling implies the existence of a large “dumple”, but this video proves it outright!
