Well, the actually answer is two bottles, but you know what I mean.

Best friend flew into town and wanted to have a little wine before dinner.

Was initially going to open a bottle, but decided on two half bottles so we could have different wines.

Figured starting with a Pinot, then moving to a proper Bordeaux blend was the way to go!

2022 Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir

Probably my favorite Oregon Pinot producer.

Very fresh, but with some nice complexity. Not quite Burgundian, but not Sonoma Coast either.

Loads of fresh fruit with raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, slight fresh herbs as well.

Really enjoyable, drinking well now, I'm sure this will improve with time.

90 points.

2007 Chalk Hill Estate Red

Gave it a quick decant, but also drank over half an hour.

This is in a great drinking window, still a tiny bit tight, but benefits from a lot of swirling.

Leather, dark cherry, dried plum, blackberry notes. Slight tobacco maybe?

This is a very interesting Bordeaux blend, with 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Malbec, 13% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot, and 1% Carminere.

Lovely wine and great deal!

Nothing better than sharing good wine with a good friend! Excellent choices as well.

Those glasses are giving me a stroke…

    Are they split bottles?

    How big is that glass?

    What am I seeing…

That is Drouhin’s new project In Oregon so to speak. The Chardonnay isn’t bad either and a decent price point
