    I made South Indian Thali at Home Weekend special
    (Idli, Masala Dosa, Sambar & Coconut Chutney – Easy Recipe)

    Here’s an easy and authentic way to make a complete South Indian Thali at home.

    1️⃣ Idli Recipe
    Ingredients:

    Urad dal – 1 cup

    Idli rice – 2 cups

    Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp

    Salt – to taste

    Water – as needed

    Method:

    Wash rice and dal separately and soak for 5–6 hours.

    Grind urad dal and fenugreek into a smooth paste.

    Grind rice into a slightly coarse paste.

    Mix both batters well and ferment in a warm place for 8–10 hours.

    Add salt to the fermented batter.

    Grease idli molds, pour batter, and steam for 10–12 minutes.

    👉 Soft and fluffy idlis are ready!

    2️⃣ Masala Dosa Recipe
    For the batter:

    Use the same idli batter (thin it slightly with water for dosa)

    For the potato filling:

    Boiled potatoes – 3–4

    Onion – 1 (chopped)

    Green chilies – 2

    Ginger – a small piece (chopped)

    Curry leaves – 6–7

    Mustard seeds – ½ tsp

    Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

    Salt – to taste

    Oil – 2 tbsp

    Method:

    Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilies, ginger, and onions. Sauté well.

    Add turmeric and salt.

    Add boiled potatoes, mash lightly, and mix well.

    👉 Potato masala is ready.

    To make dosa:

    Heat a tawa and grease lightly.

    Pour batter and spread into a thin circle.

    Once crispy, place potato masala in the center and fold.

    👉 Masala dosa is ready!

    3️⃣ Sambar Recipe
    Ingredients:

    Toor dal – 1 cup

    Tamarind – lemon-sized

    Tomatoes – 2

    Onion – 1

    Mixed vegetables (carrot, okra, drumstick, bottle gourd, etc.) – 1 cup

    Sambar powder – 2 tbsp

    Turmeric – ½ tsp

    Salt – to taste

    Curry leaves – 8–10

    Mustard seeds – ½ tsp

    Dry red chilies – 2

    Oil or ghee – 2 tbsp

    Method:

    Pressure cook toor dal with turmeric until soft.

    Boil chopped vegetables separately.

    Add vegetables, tamarind water, and sambar powder to the dal.

    Simmer for 10 minutes.

    For tempering, heat oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dry red chilies. Pour over sambar.

    👉 Hot and delicious sambar is ready!

    4️⃣ Coconut Chutney
    Ingredients:

    Fresh grated coconut – 1 cup

    Roasted chana dal – 2 tbsp

    Green chilies – 2

    Ginger – a small piece

    Salt – to taste

    Water – as needed

    Method:

    Grind coconut, roasted chana dal, green chilies, ginger, and salt into a smooth paste.

    Add water for desired consistency.

    Optional tempering: mustard seeds + curry leaves + dry red chilies.

    👉 Coconut chutney is ready!
