This was at Costco. I was way too curious and at that price?? I paid over $10 a pound for stew meat the other week. The reheating instructions call for oven but seeing as how this is already been cooked via sous vide, I’m thinking it would be much better to just reheat it that way and finish with a sear or a broil…
I have no idea what it’s going to taste like or what it even looks like but worst case scenario I can have some pretty decent sandwiches. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

If it’s fully cooked already, I’d sous vide to get the internal temperature up and then sear it again.
Yep, I do this with other premade stuff from costco like the curry. You probably want to take it out its original packaging and reseal it in a proper bag
I boo the “with au jus”.
Prime rib with with juice.
Low quality-select, pre cooked. Next time get fresh and go to a butcher that supplies from a local farm.
Can you post a picture of it when out of the package? I buy the grass fed sirloin from Costco that’s the same brand. Haven’t seen this and it looks good.
I would slice it and heat up prices on a skillet. The sous vide seems like a lot of effort for something that is already cooked.
I see no weight on the packaging. So I can’t guess how much this was.
Nothing wrong with this. It was probably sous vide’Ed from the manufacturer and then run under a salamander. I’m guessing it’s not top quality but it’s probably acceptable.
Warming it up via Sousvide makes perfect sense – I’d go for 120 for 30 mins if you slice it.
I can’t say I’d buy that, but I would probably follow manufacturer’s instructions for reheating. SV just seems like extra steps for a likely pretty mid product
I haven’t had this particular kind of packaged before…but when I reheat my own roast, prime rib, etc as leftovers…I absolutely reheat mine in the sous vide. I cook it fresh…leave the SV set up on the counter. Then next night I heat it up to about 130° for the leftovers…and heat it for about 20 minutes. It’s fabulous to keep your rare to med-rare leftovers still rare to med-rare. Microwave or stove reheating usually turns it into med-well to well-done. We absolutely love reheating leftover beef in the SV. Shuuuure is better than the shoe leather that comes out of the microwave.
I bet that prime rib would make a great skillet stroganoff sliced up with some leftover mushrooms, pasta, cream and sour cream.
