I'd wanted to try this for years but had never seen it in a store before yesterday. Nothing fancy but pretty good and only $1.95 for this big bottle. Now I'd like to try the hotter version.

I like it, but it’s basically red table vinegar.

  2. It’s good stuff.

The three ones that I like, which have different purposes for myself

Crystal has the more vinegar, Louisiana has the saltier, and Cajun chef has the more pepper forward balance. I honestly would grab Cajun chef myself, but they all work.

There’s also red rooster and red devil, franks, and the list goes on.

But Crystal and its extra hot version are nice!

It’s a minimalist hot sauce. Too salty for my taste, but not as salty as Frank’s or Lousy-anna.

I like adding this to chicken and tuna salad. It gives it a great flavor.

Crystal will always be one of my favorites.

  6. Try the Crystal “Red”. Label and cap are red instead of blue and has a lot more heat to it. Good stuff!!

This is my go to at my local Cajun spot!

Olde Tyme Grocery in Lafayette makes my favorite Louisiana style hot sauce, but it’s a little pricey to get if you don’t live down there. Crystal is my daily driver for eggs and a great price point

One of the all time greats!! Its like it was made for fried chicken. A must have everytime I eat a chicken!!

I love Crystal over all the other hot sauces. Perfect balance of heat flavor, tart, and salt. Lucky my local Sam’s Club sells a 3 pack.

My staple hot sauce. It’s my go-to for wings as well. No butter. Just add the piping hot wings and toss…..heat from the wings is just enough to reduce/thicken it up a touch.

Try the garlic variety for more flavor.

  12. Had it on pizza last night, my favorite everyday sauce

Garlic one is good I just can’t do the amount of sodium anymore so I like my sauces lower in sodium

It’s expensive online but I get it from the dollar tree down the road for $1.25

This is the best of all the mass-market hot sauces.

Great stuff, and like you said, inexpensive.

The extra hot and the garlic are my favorites
