I had a daffy idea and looked up a recipe to boil eggs in the slow-cooker. They said three hours on high, which seemed a bit long. I pulled one at 2:30 and it was plenty well cooked. They peeled really badly however, not that the egg salad is going to care.

Just gonna say – use an air fryer. 15-17 minutes at 250F (then put in an ice bath) will make perfect eggs. Super easy to shell.

I’ve tried slowcooker hardboiled eggs and they never turn out well and take HOURS. Do the above instead. Even easier to peel than boiling them.

If you have a rice cooker, you can steam them. They will be very easy to peel.

No matter how you cook the eggs, always an ice bath after, makes all the difference peeling them. It doesn’t work with super fresh eggs though, they need to be 1-2 weeks old for it to work well.

  4. You got a hot water kettle? That could be a way to cook them. Or even just a coffee maker sans coffee

    Brilliant idea!! 😊

Next time, try poking a tiny pin hole in the wider tip of the egg to break the inner membrane before you steam them in the slow cooker next time. It may help with the peeling.

It’s impossible to do in a slow cooker – I was able to hard and soft boil eggs in a rice cooker though for $20 And by impossible I mean to have them come out GOOD.

I cook my eggs in the microwave or rice cooker. Rice cookers do a lot more than just “cook rice”.
