As the title says. Wife is making fried chicken cutlets. I had the amazing idea to not waste the eggs. She is thoroughly appalled at my decision. Her egg mix has garlic, salt, pepper, and a splash of Italian dressing. Wish me luck 🫡

I see everyone talking about salmonella but if he cooked the eggs well wouldn’t OP be ok?

I mean, I’d do it, but I am very curious- if you blow up will you let me know? For science..

My grandma used to make this amazing French toast with cinnamon and vanilla in the egg batter, and then scrambled the leftovers into cinnamon and vanilla scrambled eggs. As a child, I thought it was great. As an adult, I’m cringing at the thought.

Sounds like she made Rita’s cutlets – enjoy!

I make fried bread with the leftover breadcrumbs and egg mix for pork chops & chicken cutlets. I thought most people did that

Rita’s cutlets! I’ve been making a batch every week

It sounds like you made a risk assessment for yourself and determined you were fine moving forward.

I never stopped eating raw cookie dough because to me the benefits outweighed the risks and I was willing to take them on. Same for brownie batter.

I hope your risk assessment pays off for you!

She not only had egg mix left, but had THAT much? How much did she make? When I make anything breaded, there’s barely anything left, let alone like…3 or 4 eggs

I mean, they are technically the same thing

That’s so much excess egg waste honestly. If you weren’t there to salvage the EXCESSIVE leftovers it would have wasted like 6 eggs. She greatly overestimated how many eggs are needed to bread the chicken with. I use 1-2 eggs and I always have at least a teaspoon of egg waste afterwards. If it weren’t for you, OP, this would have been such an unnecessary waste of food.

Looks fantastic! Now you have to tell us how it tasted!

As long as you cook them within an hour, any risk of salmonella or food poisoning would be limited

My mother will mix the eggs with some of the leftover bread crumbs and basically make an egg pancake/patty.
