This is my third time doing an inclusion loaf. I now know I could’ve added during stretch and folds. I was super proud of this and posted it in a beginner sourdough fb group. I didn’t think anything was wrong with it UNTIL someone commented “we all have to start somewhere. I’d still eat it” WHATS WRONG WITH IT. Surely it isn’t perfect but daymnnnn I thought it looked great lol apparently not.

I think it looks banger, if I saw this at a bakery, it would be an instant purchase.

  2. Looks good to me! Maybe more even spreading of the inclusions I guess, but who really cares.

This looks great and Facebook is stupid on so many levels so I feel like who cares what they say. I’d eat the hell out of this!!

Just remember people with miserable lives and shitty sourdough loaves are hateful to others 🙂

I think it looks great and I hope that person steps on a Lego tomorrow.

The only thing wrong with it is it’s not on my plate.

Thank you all. I really do appreciate it 🥹 I’ve noticed some groups in the “sourdough community” are batshit. Why are we judging Bread so much!! You are all the best ppl thank you so so much.

  9. Nothing’s really wrong with it! Adding your inclusions during shaping def created sort of a “lamination” effect where there are separated layers of dough. But if you don’t mind it, that’s not going to affect the taste. And yes the way to avoid it in the future would be to add your inclusions during stretch and folds. But it’s really not a bad effort for a first loaf with inclusions! Especially one with high fat content inclusions which are always liable to create this lamination effect when added at the shaping stage.

I deleted Facebook and my life instantly improved

It looks incredibly delicious. And as you already know, you can incorporate the additions during the first fold for them to be spread more evenly throughout the loaf. Wouldn’t stop me from tearing into it regardless.

lmaooooo wtf why’d they have to say that

Sourdough groups on fb are just roast fests and people telling other people their starter was messed up all day long lol. It looks very nice to me and tasty. Like obviously it could be more evenly distributed and people might be miffed if that happened to their bakery bread. It looks soft, too. How was it?

Hi OP, I’m a mega-ultra-super beginner and my goal is to make a cheese-jalapeno loaf EXACTLY like this. It looks great to me. Can you share the recipe please?

Facebook is a toxic cesspool. Did you enjoy the bread? I hope so. ❤️

  16. disneylovesme

Did you use shredded or slice cheese? It looks a bit wavy than I’ve seen for inclusion shots. Stretch and fold I can see it being better distribution. Good job regardless op

Literally the ONLY even slightly negative thing is that the inclusion missed that top part. But tbh unless you are eating just that part its a non issue. Great loaf, wouldn’t last 24hrs in my house.

Looks amazing to me. Don’t worry about the trolls on fb.

Facebook is a bit…. Crazy. I found if I mixed everything into my dough while I was doing my folds it came out even and baked very well! Bread looks super tasty though so idk lol

Fuck Facebook. Too much AI at this point. Any one who makes bread regularly likely wonders: “does it taste good, though?” Bread is good what ever you do to it, as long as the yeast is good to go.

If this is indeed one of your first loaves then I’d say you did great. They will only get better the more you make. I think, from what you’ve said so far, you have an idea of how to improve in the future. I, personally, don’t get the roasting in a beginner sourdough community. If you want to help somebody, shitting on their efforts isn’t the way to go. Congrats on a loaf you will enjoy eating. 😃

If you had some slices of that at a party I was at, it would probably be the first thing I went for.
I’m really curious about the textures in there. You’ve got nice soft looking bread sections, then there’s the bit in the bottom where there’s layers that looks like it’s full of flavour with a nice chewy texture.

Not everything needs to be, or even should be, homogeneous. That looks like a flavour and texture journey.

Ugh, fb lol. I don’t use fb, don’t even have an account. It’s toxic.
    Your bread looks great!
