1st cook last night with my new pizza steel. I used Publix made dough (I'll bust out the pizza bible for my next pizza). I used Pizzaiola sauce which is just absolutely delicious. For the cheese I shredded a mixture of whole milk mozzarella and muenster cheese (I may try to add in some provolone next time). The pepperoni is boars head but next time I'll try my hand at slicing my own off the log. Overall, pretty good and some lessons learned. Excited to keep tweaking and improving!

    I think I’ll go with yours since there’s good feedback. I usually just use San Marziano canned whole tomatoes. I hand crush, add evoo, garlic, basil and salt. Look forward to trying the pizzaiola.

    I’ve done both. Cooked and right out of the can. Cooking it infuses the added flavors a bit more. But really not necessary.
