When you need a little sweet treat, but also have protein goals to hit, these poppable cookie dough bites are the perfect solution. The dough is even easier to make than standard chocolate chip cookie dough, and they’re great for keeping in your fridge whenever a craving hits. Unlike our edible cookie dough, which is great for sharing, these are perfectly portioned for a snack or a follow-up to a high-protein dinner to double up on those macros.
These are relatively easy to make and to customize, but there is one step you can’t skip: heating the raw flour in the microwave to make it safe to eat. Once you’ve done that, you’ve got lots of options. I like using a vanilla-flavored protein powder, but unflavored works just as well. The protein content will vary by brand, so try to use one that has a high amount. I always have peanut butter on hand, so that’s what I used here, but if you prefer almond butter or sunflower butter, those both work well too.
You can also have fun with your mix-ins! Sprinkles and nuts are obvious choices, but feel free to get creative.
