Hi everyone, I am new to cookie decorating and I could use some help. In part because of my tremor, I am having a difficult time creating even lines. For example, I can’t freehand any text (even simple block text like “XOXO” on heart cookies). The cookies in this photo are my best efforts. I’d love to try more sophisticated designs/techniques but I’m at a loss on how to move forward. Are there any tricks, techniques, or equipment that might help?

Thank you!

These look really good! I deal with that too, more from arthritis but I’m just not as steady as I want to be.

Seriously though- your cookies look great. I empathize with the hand tremors though. I don’t have anything medically wrong with- I’m just old as dirt (70). But I do find:

    – shaky hands seem worse in the morning. And yes! I do have two coffees every morning. Less and I can’t function. More and I think it might make the shakes worse, lol

    – sometimes I’m concentrating so hard on a technique (writing/script) shaking, and I don’t notice I’ve been holding my breath. I stop, do some deep yoga breathing and continue after a rest

    – I will use my left hand to help steady my right if necessary when the shaking is bad

    – and if none of the above works, I just wait until later in the day and tackle it in increments
