Chef Anthony Strong is a longtime San Francisco hospitality fixture, but his restaurant Pasta Supply Co. has struck a nerve. Strong opened the first shop in Inner Richmond in 2023; the space serves as a store with homemade pasta and ready-made sauces as well as a sit-down restaurant. Locals embraced the restaurant for its pricing and ingredients. That shop spawned a second location in the Mission in 2024, solidifying it as a local favorite for casual dinners.
It’s no shocker that Pasta Supply Co. sells everything from mafaldine to stuffed pastas, alongside a hefty roster of sauces to assemble a generously portioned meal for two. But the shop also sells other items that can really round out a dinner, such as wine, all-inclusive salads, vinaigrettes, and olives. I highly suggest getting one of the compound butters, to adorn pasta or any fresh bread you might find at the Bay Area’s countless excellent bakeries.
Besides being your friendly neighborhood pasta suppliers, Pasta Supply Co. is also your friendly neighborhood pasta-making class. At the Mission location, the team offers group pasta-making during the day for six to 10 people; participants can choose to do a class with a cooking demo and lunch ($140 per person), or class only ($95 per person). Students will try out all sorts of pasta tools and get time working with dough and creating different pasta shapes.
