Got about 5 tubs to freeze which as a uni student is very helpful tbh. I’m doing what I can ig. Don’t be too harsh. Tips welcome

I love my slow cooker. There really isn’t a wrong way to cook just trail and error what you like. Looks like something I’d eat!

My one tip would be to lightly toast the bread, schmear on a big glob of butter, and top that off with a thick slice of sharp cheddar. And then turn on Lord of the Rings extended edition.

I don’t know what it is, but it looks good. Keep exploring and experimenting!

Looks good my friend. Welcome, and enjoy the many delicious meals it will help you make.

Looks amazing! Is it basic beef stew, or Hungarian goulash soup, or maybe Beef Bourgogne ? It looks like there’s bacon in it , which makes extra good!

Nah no judgement here. As long as the food tastes good it’s a net positive. I find slow cooker meals never look “aesthetically pleasing” since it’s a lot of soups and stews and stuff but they always taste amazing. My favourite combination is usually a nice beef and potato stew.

When I make stew I make it chunky with vegetables, so sometimes looks weird, but tastes amazing. As long as it tasted good to you that’s all that matters

Can’t go wrong with stew! I love freezing extra portions, too, it makes me feel like I actually meal planned when I pull one out for dinner. lol

Had the cooker barely a day and you’re already producing perfection. It is incredibly hard to mess up a stew in a slow cooker, and this looks great.

Plus, the first time cooking a stew is always a test run as far as taste goes. It’ll be delicious no matter what you their in there, but as you eat it, think about what other things would be good to add. Or subtract.

Over time, my vegetable beef stew has become heavy on the veggies, lighter on the meat. Sometimes I use beef bouillon, sometimes I use beef broth. Sometimes I’ll add a can of Campbells French onion soup, or a couple smaller cans of Rotel tomatoes. Try different spices. Always make sure to add fresh garlic. My go-to veggies are small gold potatoes, yellow onion, carrots, and celery.

It looks good! I cook for just myself primarily and use my slow cooker a couple of times a week. I get multiple dinners and lunches and I keep a few aside in the freezer for the days I just dont want to cook.

Right now, I have a small garlic seasoned pork loin and root veggies( carrots, parsnips, sweet potato, beets) in my slow cooker. I seasoned with garlic and onion powder, smoked paprika, some Lawry’s and some Slap Yo Momma Cajun seasoning. It’s got about an hour left and I cant wait! Its a smaller piece of pork so I’ll only get maybe 4-5 meals out of it.

You had EIGHT hours to toast that damn bread, OP. Why go through all that trouble to downgrade your whole meal?

    Looks good and comforting! Enjoy

    Looks great!

One thing that really helps with flavor (although adds a step and a bit more cleaning) is to get a good hard sear on all sides of the meat in a fry pan before adding to the slow cooker. Also make sure to deglaze the pan and dump that in the slow cooker as well.

Other tips – stir in a few tablespoons of cold butter and mix it in last 3 mins of cooking. Just til it melts and the stew is glossy. I view this as a must. Butter’s awesome.

I always add just like a tablespoon of soy sauce, or worstecier (?) before the cook. Couple tablespoons of tomato paste. And some red wine.

These all just add depth and umami.

    Happy stewing

I like to toss some frozen peas in there at the very end

Make sure you save in small batches so if you get sick of it you won’t waste and can have far out

Looks fantastic! I can almost smell it through the phone 😜

Since you have a freezer, I’d suggest making your own veggie or beef/chicken broth/stock and freeze it. Super easy from scraps and bones

Looks good to me. I bake some buttermilk biscuits to put in a bowl, and ladle beef stew on top of those

Hey, you got yourself a stew, baby

If you have a stone countertop, you need something underneath it. I prefer a wood cutting board that the cooker will sit on evenly. The heat will crack the stone.

Looks like you made a really good stew I’m not fond of carrots but I would eat it so looks like you did good but your opinions the only one that matters

Looks really good. Looks like a nice hearty stew.
