My first time ever making a steak, or really cooking something like this at all, is it raw or is this considered medium rare, other than that it was bomb

    That’s literally perfect! Good job

    This is… Perfect… You’ve got a knack for steak

Inside is almost perfect. Bet it tasted great. Awesome job, especially for the first time around.

I don’t understand how no one is talking about the lack of sear tho. It is grey with a lot of pepper (I think) making parts look charred. My browned exterior got ripped a new one on this sub.

Maybe im missing something, idk. I’m new to cooking.

    It’s 0 raw. Looks a solid medium-rare.

The only thing wrong with it is that it is not my plate on my table in front of me right now.

It depends who you’re asking. It’s all very subjective. One person’s “way too rare” is another person’s just right. Same goes for very well cooked; some folks prefer it and some are repulsed by it. There are some restaurants that snobbishly refuse to cook anything beyond medium.

Looks great… hope you enjoy it. If not to your liking, I’m happy to come over and unburden you of this steak so you can start over.
