My controller failed and upon the warranty repair, I found no additional barrier between the smoke and the wires. The entire inside wiring and controller has soot. They could design this much better.

I feel like there should be a grommet in there. Doesn’t seem like a great design to have heat and smoke on that stuff like you said.
