OKLAHOMA CITY –
“I learned that actually from Macau, I was training with French chefs over there,” said Larc Patisserie owner Isabella Li.
Pastry Chef Isabella Li opened Larc Patisserie in 2024, making rare French pastries from scratch.
“It’s just a lot of components brought together in one dessert,” said Li.
Most of her days start around 5 am, and it’s not uncommon for her to leave some nights at midnight.
“I work like 16, 18 hours. Last time I worked 20, 22 hours. No sleep. It’s just a time consuming and labor-intensive work,” said Li.
She has now hired some much needed to hopefully relieve some of her workload. But one thing is obvious, about her, she is all about the details.
“These are coconuts. So, you brush the chocolate and it turns the coconut shell. Looks like this. I don’t mess us,” said Li.
She posts videos of her work on her Instagram account, which may explain at least some of her success.
“I posted that video that went viral. It has three point five million views right now,” said Li.
And her customers can’t seem to get enough of the tasty pastries.
“In summer it was like very busy. They complain, “Your lines block my door,” said Li.
Even last weekend’s snowstorm, a quick social media post was all it took for customers to come running.
“I opened one to five and I sold everything that I put in the display case,” said Li.
“We got four, we got one for our son back home and three for ourselves,” said customer Chris Odell.
Li says they have actually had customers from all over the country.
“There’s no one like these in Oklahoma,” said Li.
Larc Patisserie opens at noon from Thursday to Sunday and is located at 9309 N. Pennsylvania in northwest Oklahoma City.
