my cellar (again)

  1. I finished this project just about a year ago, and with some cosmetic upgrades since then, thought I’d jump into the mix of cellar posts! The coolest part to me is that there’s a clear history of wine making that happened in this room by the previous owners (Italian immigrants, wine press, and old boxes of California grapes!). I was so eager to breathe new life into the room. It’s underground and is passively climate controlled (maxes at 65F in the peak of summer, 50F in the dead of winter). Slowly but surely adding to the shelves…

I don’t know that having a subwoofer directly under the shelves is a good idea. Vibration is not generally desirable when aging wines.

  3. the versatility of this arrangement seems underrated, imagine what a small mattress could do for a couple sipping🥂 on a cosy winter evening in there, huh! 🤦‍♂️

this is so cool how long did it take you?

  5. Something like marmolium would go a long way on that floor and would not take any time at all if level.

  6. Dope. I’d say get a record player and some vinyl down there

Looks great! Upvote for Living Roots, Wölffer NA and Forge, fellow Rochesterian!

  8. That is amazing. Thoughts on ventilation system for a good cigar with a nice glass or Pinot noir!?
