I am behind posting this week because it’s been a tough few days and depression has been kicking in.
Making these meals for my family has been such a labor of love, but I also need to practice a bit of self-care and maybe not make it such an event… still, the effort is part of the process.
This week I took my household to Thailand 🇹🇭. Stuff I was familiar with cooking actually. I went a bit more beyond the jar paste by using a whole Chinese BBQ duck shredded of meat and combined with Lychees. A real royal curry.
The first soup course I spent a long time tasting and getting the balance of flavors right with enough lime juice and fish sauce to make it zingy and punchy through all the coconut 🥥
It was a good opportunity to use some colorful bowls we have that aren’t everyday ware too.

You knocked it outta the park OP! You can tell you put so much effort into these and they really turned out so lovely. Tom Kha Gai is one of my favorites. Ive never had the others but they look phenomenal. What country is next?!

Looks amazing, I love how you even do the little menu card. Did your family like it?
