Fatty's BBQ & Soul Food, Tampa Bay.

Had a vacation to Tampa. Randomly stopped by a BBQ place with a good Google rating, not even looking at anything else about the place, any pics etc. Absolute hole in the wall. Walk inside to order, there's 3 chairs to sit in while you wait. No inside seating to eat. And only two picnic tables outside. A tiny cooler with bottled water and some pop.

Ordered the Rib sandwich and the SMALL pork sandwich. Mac n cheese and baked beans. Was around $28. And holy heck was it amazing! They left the bread separate from the meat, so you could make your own sandwich or just not eat the bread. Ribs were cooked perfectly, and the pork was chopped into small cubes which was unique, but it was so tender and has a fantastic smoke flavor. 5 ribs on a $12 sandwich is crazy! And the portion of pork was huge for a $12 sandwich also. We couldn't quite finish it all. Overall 10/10, especially for the price! Definitely a hole in the wall place. But that's often times where the best food is at anyway!

If you have to eat it on a bench outside in Florida or south Ga there is a good chance that bbq will slap

The ribs look foul, but I bet you that all taste fantastic

Those ribs look like they’d be great for someone who doesn’t like the way ribs taste

That is an over use of sauce on those ribs. I hope you asked for it that way and they are not hiding something.

Florida has always had great ‘cue. If you’re in Hillsborough County, look for the Sod Man posted up on County Line and 60 on Friday and Saturday nights.

My favorite as a kid was Peebles BBQ in Auburndale, but everything changed when Jerry the owner died.

The ozona pig outside of Tampa is also a good spot

  7. Those ribs are drowning, but if you like it rock on

  8. Anywhere near Orlando, 4Rivers is pretty solid.

Wtf is on those ribs?! If you have to mask the flavor with that sauce, please go somewhere else.

  11. Ice Creams bbq on 22nd st just south of hillsborough

look for white trailer, bright yellow and black yard signs and smell for the smoke.

    bring cash, no hundred

choices are thin end, center cut, turkey legs ( to die for ) , 1/4 chicken

Ribs are cooked without sauce- choice of sauce ( hot or mild) which can be drizzled or served in cups on side, white bread slices, sides usually available ( the collard greens are to die for )

  12. That looks like some blue front bbq sauce on those ribs

  13. If you’re still in Tampa, the Brisket Shoppe is probably the best BBQ in the area. It’s on the pricier side but his brisket and banana pudding is outrageously good.

It looks like the moistness of those ribs is wholly dependent on the sauce.

Let me put all this pipping hot greasy food in this melting containers so I ingest all these petro chemicals.

It’s normalized so it’s alright. Kinda like asbestos in the 50s. Yummy.
