My last frost date is March 15th. I’m in the Pacific Northwest.

I’m thinking these will be to big to keep indoors that long.

I’m contemplating a cold frame to get them out early.

What is the best plan from here?

Plant in March! I need to move there! I have 14 inches of ice on my garden right now.

Probably, but that happens to me every year. If you have the space and can accommodate larger pots and taller plants keep at it. You can always bury the stem really deep as soon as you get them outside and end up with a much stronger plant later in the season. One cherry variety I did that with ended up being like 14’ by the end of my season.

If any of those are heirloom or beefsteak varieties they will appreciate a bigger head start anyway.

Once my windows thaw I put mine up like this. No need for a grow light. Once My porch warms up they go out there. Im in zone 4b so creativity is a must lol

You really only have three options: rejig your setup to allow more growth (raise lights, repot, etc), move them outside and pray, or start over.

How old are they? When did you plant the seeds? I haven’t planted mine yet (Mid Island – Ladysmith)

Doubt it. I started mine at the wrong time of year and already got a tomato growing and lots of blooms. It took awhile. I want to get them outside already but there’s still a solid 1-2 months before it’s warm enough. Spring can’t come soon enough!!!!

I looked out my window at the frozen lake with 2 feet of crusted icy snow then back at your post. Then back at the lake.

Up-pot and lower the shelf if possible, or up-pot and take them outside during the day to get sun.

You can try some outside with walls of water

If the daytime temps are good, you could start hardening them off bit by bit now. Then you can just get to a point where you schlep them all outside every morning and back inside at night.
