It’s not good bbq. Mid at best. They don’t even cook on that little pit (they don’t even cook on site anymore)
Was great 20 years ago. Their bbq sauce is a personal fav of mine, weird mustard and star anise tasting.

Is that The Salt Lick?

Bro is in the smoker. He’s probably probe tender by now.

The fact he was able to pick those ribs up with tongs like that without them falling apart tells me everything I need to know about this meat.

Why is OP posting the Salt Lick’s bbq pit? A place to take tourists for the atmosphere and the drive, not for the bbq

People love to hate on Salt Lick, but it’s really an awesome experience, which is what this pit is all about. The BBQ is some of my favorite (native southern Texan) and the hospitality is always top notch. Hate all you want, but this is what this hobby is all about.

It’s okay. It’s fun to take out of state guests.

We stopped by Salt Lick last month and we all agreed. The atmosphere is great but the food always mid tier.

What’s the street value of all the meat in this shot?

The Salt Lick is a complete waste of money if you have the luxury of being in or near Austin and want bbq.
