Anyone remove their SmokeWare cap while trying to get the joe to over 600º for grilling? I've struggled in the past to get to high temps for steaks, beef Fajitas, burgers, etc with the SmokeWare cap.
For this issue I remove the cap and leave it off for these instances like this. Works well this way.

    I dont have a smokeware cap but I do the same with the stock cap once and a while. Helps get to top temp quickly.

    Try more charcoal, let it cook a bit longer. I find it takes more charcoal than expected to reach those temps.
