Subiaco’s European-inspired food and drink festival, Subi Spritz, is returning this March with four days of events spread across the precinct.

Running from March 26 to March 29, the festival will feature more than 20 events, mixing long lunches, wine tastings, aperitivo sessions and hands-on workshops. Popular fixtures like the Conti Roll Contest are back, alongside a Subi Night Market x Subi Spritz collaboration and a stack of new additions to the program.

Events, tastings and more

The opening night on Thursday sets the tone with An Italian Crafted Pairing Journey at Intuition Wine & Kitchen, where a five-course Italian and French-inspired menu will be paired with curated wines. The same night also sees the return of the Conti Roll Contest, pitting Perth sandwich stores against each other, and Lum’s Wine Battle Vol. 4, a guided tasting of European wines with Italian grazing boards hosted by Lum’s, Flowstone and Somos.

Workshops are again a key part of the program. La Delizia Latticini will host its Burrata Masterclass at Bar Amelie, combining a live burrata demonstration with a burrata bar and free-flowing Howard Park wines.

Little Things Distilling Co will run a Limoncello Masterclass, showing guests how to create a limoncello base and personalise it with infused syrups.

Wine events include the Howard Park Wines Riesling & Cabernet Masterclass, marking the winery’s 40th anniversary, and Jeté & Jerry, a sparkling wine and oyster pairing hosted by Jerry Fraser and Gerome Vaughan.

Long lunches feature throughout the weekend, with options ranging from a Spanish-style Basque Long Table at Lum’s to a multi-region European Long Lunch at The Unicorn Bar and a French-focused Champagne, Chardonnay et Charcuterie at La Bastide. Those wanting to explore at their own pace can opt for the Subi Culinary Crawl or the Vino & Cichetti bar hop, inspired by Venetian bacari.

Aperitivo sessions return with Juanita’s and Friends: Aperitivo Club, bringing together drinks, bites and DJ sets, while Mistelle Bistro will host L’Apéro du Quartier, a French-style apéro hour built around sharing boards and spritzes.

The final day includes the Euro Sunday Sesh, a collaboration between chefs Ben Ing and Ben Jacob, pairing West Australian produce with Italian flavours alongside Cherubino Wines and FOUND brews.

Beyond food and drink, the program also includes a street art tour, a free family screening of the Italian film “The War of the Nonni” and the return of The Kiosk, which will transform Forrest Walk into an Italian-style piazza with a pop-up spritz bar and Italo disco DJs.

Now in its fifth year, Subi Spritz has become a regular fixture on the Subiaco calendar, drawing crowds for a festival that blends food, wine and European-inspired culture across the neighbourhood.

City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen said, “Subi Spritz is our iconic event showcasing our very own food and beverage experiences to the whole of Perth. We are delighted to see so many Subiaco businesses take part in this year’s festival and hope Perth foodies will come out and explore, taste and see Subiaco.”
