Of course there's been so much said about this restaurant. It's a fantastic treat and I've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed it twice in the last 16 months. I just had a wonderful time and wanted to share a small bit of the experience.
The service is immaculate. There was a hiccup when consommé wasn't brought to the table to accommodate someone with dietary restrictions and the look of terror on the servers face was palpable. They quickly ran off and returned to pour. They expect perfection and 99.9% of the time achieve it.
The food was just as good. When I think about best bites, I don't have a better bite of salmon than the salmon-caviar dish that I can think of. The hiramasa with mushrooms is another example. It's just bite after bite of excellence.
Recognizing that I may not be back there for the rest of my life, I'm happy to have enjoyed it.
