    I can see why it’d be sour then. And it only has 10% juice. Did it at least have the sweetness from the Honey Apple?

    Have you heard of “supertasters”? OP is the opposite of that.

    You did the right thing, this is apple vinegar and honey flavoured drink. The label says ストレートドリンク (straight drink) ie. ready to drink without dilution.

    I think you’re okay, this is an “apple cider vinegar drink”. Maybe it wasn’t that tasty for you but it is intended to be drunk.

    Its a vinegar drink with honey apple flavor, hence the 酢 (su) for vinegar.

    They are really common here in Japan, and often you’ll see 黒酢 (kurozu) which is black vinegar. I like those ones more. Usually just straight black vinegar and no extra flavor is the best.

    You’ll also find many drinkable vinegars at the supermarket, but note that they are usually *concentrate* and you add them to water.

  6. Isn’t there a rule in Japan – if you want apple juice, make sure there’s a photo of a whole apple on the front. Perhaps others can confirm.

    Nb: this is an stylised image of an apple, rather than a photo

    edit: Altruistic Lobster has provided the actual rule, as follows;

    In Japan, real fruit juice (100% juice) is easily identified by packaging regulations: only 100% juice can feature realistic, cut-in-half fruit on the label. Products with 5-99% juice show whole fruit, while <5% juice displays cartoon/drawing images.

    It is a drink tho. There are many vinegar drinks, in Japan, pomegranate, apple, etc. It wasn’t cooking vinegar
