An established winery, vineyard and hospitality destination in  Victoria’s renowned Alpine Valley wine region has been brought to market, with Colliers appointed  to sell the iconic Gapsted Estate on behalf of Receivers & Managers Luke Andrews and Mathew Blum of BDO.

Located at Gapsted in north‑east Victoria, Gapsted Estate is widely recognised both locally and  across the Australian wine and viticulture industries as a high‑quality, fully integrated wine business.  The offering presents a rare opportunity to acquire a large‑scale, operational winery with diverse  income streams, significant production capacity and strong tourism appeal.

The estate comprises approximately 24.05 hectares, of which around 8.41 hectares are planted to  vineyard. The vineyard features a mix of established and emerging varieties, including Chardonnay  alongside alternative varieties such as Saperavi, Tempranillo and Petit Manseng.

At the heart of the property is a fully operational, purpose‑built winery with the capacity to process  up to 6,500 tonnes of grapes per annum. The facility includes extensive wine storage of  approximately 8.2 million litres, supported by additional oak barrel storage and red fermenter  capacity, providing scale and flexibility for both estate production and contract processing  opportunities.

Complementing the production infrastructure is a modern cellar door and on‑site restaurant, which  together form a key part of the estate’s visitor experience. The restaurant is licensed and configured  to accommodate approximately 60 patrons for lunch service and up to 80 patrons for events,  positioning the property to capitalise on the Alpine Valley’s growing food and wine tourism market. The property benefits from a prime location near the renowned King Valley wine region.

Duncan McCulloch, Colliers’ National Director | Agribusiness, said, “Gapsted Estate is a high‑quality,  fully integrated wine business with genuine scale, excellent infrastructure and strong brand  recognition. The ability to acquire an attractive going concern business opportunity provides an  incoming owner with immediate operational continuity and significant flexibility, whether they are  an established wine group, a contract producer or a private investor seeking exposure to premium  Australian viticulture.”

“Assets of this calibre, offering both operational depth and lifestyle appeal, are exceptionally tightly  held, especially in regions with strong long‑term demand drivers like the Alpine Valleys,” Mr  McCulloch added.

Connor Dixon, Colliers Executive | Agribusiness, noted, “The Alpine Valley wine region is highly  regarded for its cool‑climate conditions, scenic landscapes and strong tourism draw. Gapsted Estate  is strategically positioned close to key regional centres including Myrtleford, Bright, Beechworth,  Wangaratta and Wodonga, and approximately a three‑hour drive from Melbourne. That  combination of accessibility, established tourism and premium wine production makes this a very  compelling regional investment.”

Other high quality structural improvements on the property include a large warehouse and  distribution facility, administration building, production and laboratory building, tastings room,  barrel shed and staff amenity.

Gapsted Estate is being offered for sale by Expression of Interest, closing Wednesday 18 March 2026  at 4.00pm AEDT.
