I work at a grocery store and these are romas from two days in a row. The one on the left arrived Sunday, it’s huge, very pale, many from the batch were a pale pink/cream/green color mix. It was also not the palest of the batch, still had decent color compared to the others. One on the right arrived Monday. It is smaller, feels juicier, and much brighter. They came in the same packaging (which doesn’t mean a ton but often when we switch farms/companies/packagers the box changes). I would assume that they are from different crops or farms but just curious if y’all know what specifically would make them differ in this way? Is it the soil, sun, fertilizer? Mainly just curious, I work in the produce department and always eager to know more about the growing processes.

Second photo is just the Sunday Roma for size.

Photos are taken in Colorado but I didn’t think to check where they were grown when I took the pictures.

That big pale one looks a lot like an Amish Paste tomato.

The ones one the left were picked earlier/less ripe (or have had less time to ripen off the vine). If you don’t know where they came from – could be any reason from food, substrate to environment,
