Found a Weber searwood XL at the local Lowe’s with a decent dent in the lid. It’s about 2” and the scratch is down to bare metal so it will very likely rust. The manager marked it down to $840.

I can’t decide if it’s a must buy or not.

I would buy it at that price. It’s a scuff you can figure out a way to protect it from rust for under 10 dollars.

Edit: if that is two inches I am going into porn.

Ask for a couple hundred more off, touch it up with some high temp paint. Smoke a brisket, drink some beer.

  3. Some grill spray paint to cover that spot is like $15 for a can. That’ll keep it from rusting

See if they’ll go to $500.

Then when you get home, call Weber for a free replacement lid. 😂.

How much could high heat paint cost? $20? If you don’t care about looks, you’d save like $300 vs one without a paint patch. A hammer can get most of these out.

I think must buy brother. Fix a dent that little scratch and carry on like nothing’s wrong.

100% you should get it, I have had my searwood for about a year and a half and absolutely love it!

I would buy it and chance it with Weber directly. For 840$ it’s worth the gamble.

Either way, I don’t see how this dent would affect cooking.

No you can get it cheaper i paid $400 with no damage

Haggle down as far as possible. They usually give stuff away. Then register the grill and call customer support and tell them your new grill is damaged out of the box. They will send you the part. All set!

Just bought a Searwood XL. Awesome smoker. I will say on my first run I did have a random error on the control module in the middle of the night that shut the smoker off and almost ruined my brisket but I recovered it in time. I fortunately had an alarm set on my phone every hour to check it. Just recommend keeping an eye on it at night.

No. Weber’s are not good. Hopper fires!

I got the Searwood Xl and it’s amazing I’ve use it a bunch through that last year no problems and the best part it holds steady temps during winter sure you might burn through a bit more pellets but nothing beats consistency

I got this smoker last summer and I am loving it. Never had one before to compare it to, but it’s been great. I’d take that deal!

  17. I would’ve bought it on the spot no questions asked.
