Is it normal for the roots to grow so much outside of the soil? I've already changed the pot and added more soil twice, but roots keep appearing, each time taller. The branch on the right is just a support. These are indeterminate growth cherry tomatoes.

An indeterminate plant needs at least a 5 gallon pot, but 10, or even 15 is better. Plus, it’s hard to tell, but the soil looks compact and wet, both of which can make a tomato want to grow advantageous roots
*Adventitious* roots are sometimes a sign of some kind of stress, and sometimes not. Tomatoes do it more than any other plant, and some varieties more than others.
That stem does look relatively large for that size pot, however. Is this pot the terminal planting site for this tomato?
does that pot drain?
