Was at Medici Coffee this morning and the music was low, but I couldn’t help but notice a verse playing “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” – in a yearning way. I Shazam’s it, and sure enough it was Christian worship music.
I know this is a private establishment – so they're well within their legal rights to do this, but still – WTF, right? Does anyone else find this a bit exclusionary to their non-Christian patrons? I asked the barista , “this is worship music, right?” He said “yeah,” and just walked off. It played the entire time I was there “ (~90 minutes).
Here’s an excerpt lyrics from another Shazam’d song (screenshot):
“Oh, praise the Father
Praise the Son
Holy Spirit
Make us one
Every nation
Tribe and tongue
This is our cry
Your Kingdom come”
