Japan makes my favourite steak in the world. Wagyu is transcendentally good, of course, but I even loved the cheap sliced steak on steamed rice with fried garlic chips that I got from Denny’s.

I tried steak with raw chicken egg yolk there as well, in sukiyaki. It’s like a double umami bomb. So deeply satisfying.

The beef I had in Japan was treated like a real delicacy, I really enjoyed it

Do you think they’ll share the recipe?

I’d rather have it cooked, but it’s a neat presentation

Are you supposed to dip it in the miso broth or just dive in?

If beef quality is high enough, it doesn’t even need cooked, just like fish.

I don’t do seafood so a huge part of Japanese cuisine doesn’t interest me, but this I absolutely would eat.

I almost drowned from the amount of drool this picture caused my mouth to produce

I had whale served EXACTLY like that in Japan. Ate that years ago and I still think about it regularly. Best meal I have had in my entire life.

Had raw horse and raw chicken like this in Japan. Really, really good.

Wish I had the palette to appreciate something like this, it looks amazing!

  15. I believe that wasabi is actual freshly grinded wasabi and not the fake green horseradish that we usually eat. They taste extremely different.

Raw egg yolk on japanese rice is also an insane combo.

Now I miss the fast food version of this in Taiwan

With how many slices you got I’d say the steak looks pretty common to me
