I visited Christmas market in both Rabat area and Valetta in Malta. There are many Maltese Christmas traditional sweets and beverages such as Sfineg, Mulled wine, Qassatat tal-Milied, Qaghaq tal-Ghasel, Helu tradizzjonali tal-Milied, and so on.
This time, I tried Imbuljuta! This is hot cocoa with tangerine peels, spices (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg), and a lot of chestnuts. Although the recipe is completely different, the taste and the texture reminded me of Oshiruko (お汁粉）sweet red bean soup which is one of the traditional hot beverage around new year in Japan😳
