I was at the dock just after the boat arrived this morning – $20 for about 3.5 pounds, and incredibly sweet and fresh tasting.

Great deal! It’s interesting to see many of em have eggs, us recreational fishermen in BC are required to release any with eggs or it’s a hefty fine. Haven’t caught many of these guys fishing off the west coast of Vancouver island, but pulled up tons of spot prawns and coonstripe shrimp.

Did they have any grittyness to them? Almost a sandy taste any time I’ve gotten wild caught it’s been that way
