We just got this used Pit Boss PRO SERIES II 1150, and we shouldn’t have waited to clean it the night before we need it 😂 but I am new to pellet smoking and wondering how do I get these old pellets out? They have been sitting in this grill for god knows how long. I do not have a shop vac.

Do I just turn the grill on and smoke them out?

I would just turn it on and run it hot to burn it all up. Then put in your new pellets and prime it.

Let it rip dude burn them up then add new pellets. Or shop vac them out. You’ll want a shop vac with a pitboss anyway

As long as you promise not to stick your finger in the auger while its in operation, you can keep that stupid grating off after you vacuum it out.

If your worried about them you could prime the auger this puts pellets into the fire box and its easier to access them to remove them.

They look dry…run it. When your cook is over and everything is cool, clean out the auger in case there is left over wood dust. If the pot has holes caused by heat and oxidation (this is to be expected with time) replace the pot they’re not too expensive.

Turn it on and let it burn them out, that’s the easiest way without a shop vac. Just fire it up to 250-300F and let the auger feed them through. Stay nearby and monitor it.

Unless they are swollen from moisture, you’ll be fine

Get rid of it. If it’s not my own pellets – vacuum it out and start fresh.

Let the smoker run until all of the pellets have burned out once your done your cook. One you meat is off the grill empty the hopper, turn that bitch on high then burn until empty.
