LaScala’s Fire plans to open a new location at MarketFair on Route 1 in Mercer County, bringing Italian-American cuisine to the shopping center.

The restaurant chain, which will be located next to Seasons 52, serves classic dishes prepared fresh daily, according to the MarketFair website.

LaScala’s Fire currently operates New Jersey locations in Marlton, Glassboro and at the Ocean Casino Resort.

Owner Rob LaScala founded the LaScala Restaurant Group, which operates six restaurant concepts.

The group includes LaScala’s Fire, LaScala’s Beach House, LaScala’s Birra, Lorenzo Pizza & Steaks, The Chicken or the Egg and LaScala’s Pronto.

According to the LaScala’s Fire website, Rob LaScala drew inspiration from his grandparents Francesco and Tommasina Rocchino, who immigrated from Calabria, Italy to Philadelphia in 1920.

The couple built two businesses in South Philadelphia, Rocchino & Sons, a corner deli and grocery store, and a construction company.

MarketFair is a single-level shopping center on Route 1 in West Windsor featuring more than 35 stores, including Barnes & Noble, AMC, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma and Anthropologie.

Customers are invited to sign up for updates and perks ahead of the restaurant opening.
