Schnaitmann Lämmler Lemberger GG 2019: Family has been making wine in Fellbach, Württemberg, for almost 600 years. Certified organic since 2016. Listed among Germany’s top 100 estates. This Lemberger (Blaufränkisch) is smooth and silky, currently sitting in a perfect drinking window where the primary fruit has softened into more complex notes. Nice effort.
Albert Glas Dornfelder 2023: Dornfelder is a German red grape – a cross made in 1955. It’s often dismissed as bulk wine, but when done right, it’s a fantastic everyday red. But this one wasn’t it. This was kinda ripe, off-dry even. A bit clumsy.
Wasenhaus Spätburgunder 2021: Poor vintage unfortunately and a very thin wine with diluted fruit. The whole bunch element made it worse.
2 NaturKinder Heimat Silvaner 2022: Zippy with piercing acidity. Simple yet delicious, perfect with steamed vegetables.
Ziereisen Grauer Burgunder 2019: Had more expectations for this because the last time I tried it it was exceptional. This seemed a bit tired and bland.
Seckinger Paradiesgarten 2020: Seckinger. Three brothers – Jonas, Lukas, and Philipp – seventh generation in the Pfalz, running a biodynamic estate with serious Jura influence. Bombastic energy, almost tastes like a Savagnin. Perfect with wok hei.
Julien Renard Chardonnay 2022: Rockstar winemaker, but I didn’t find this to have any sense of place to be honest. Could’ve been from Antarctica. Good wine, but not worth the price I reckon.
Stefan Vetter Müller Thurgau 2020: The biggest surprise of the tasting. Cheapest wine in the lineup yet stood out for its beautiful texture, acidity and salty-lemon vibe. Delicious and low in abv (10%).
Max Dexheimer Riesling 2020: WOTN (surprise haha). Vibrant, bracing acidity integrated into a rich and waxy texture. Salinity on the finish that lasts forever. Unique in its own way.
Stefan B. Ress Sauvignon Blanc QBA Trocken 2023: Too grassy and diluted. Very commercial.

I had the Ziereisen Chardonnay in a tasting, and it was the most disliked wine in our group. Was hoping other varieties might be better received, but after your review I guess I will try other producers.. 🙂

Seckinger is on the natural side of wine making if I am right. I had it’s Cabernet Sauvignon Last year and it was undrinkable without I could tell if the wine was faulty, the conservation was or if it simply was an underriped bad wine. I also had the entry Gutedel from Ziereisen and it was okayish but nothing more than that. Thanks for the report.
