Credit goes to Drew Cooks on YouTube. One can of Campbell French onion soup, one can beef broth, 1/14 cup rice, one ( 😳 ) caramelized onion. One stick butter, cover and cook at 350 for 45 minutes or until rice is soft. After cooking I added two more onions, but for sure needs more. Also some of those shaky onions …. You can play with this all you want, but honestly it’s a nice rice dish.

  1. That looks great!! Have you ever tried making mujadara? It’s a [Lebanese recipe for lentils with rice topped with carmelised onions](https://maureenabood.com/lebanese-mujadara/) that reminds me a lot of your dish.

My friend shared with me some that she made and it was amazing

I do like onions, don’t get me wrong. I would eat them raw, or cooked, or however.

Looking at this…. I’m seeing a bowl of live worms and soil. Maybe the camera isn’t doing it justice.

This is one of my favourites but it’s hard to find the onion soup in cans in Canada! I think I made this once and then couldn’t find them again so started subbing for the 2 cans of soup 1 can beef consomme / refilling that can with unsalted beef broth and adding 1 packet French onion soup mix plus a bunch more dried onions. The house smells SO GOOD when I make this.

  4. Omfg……I’m so doing this to some oven-baked risotto! 😍🤤 Thank you for the idea, OP!
