The Gargantuan is a mother of a sandwich. IMO their best offering, behind the beach club add bacon.

  2. Crimson-Rose28

Yea I love me some Jimmy John’s ngl

  3. Square_Saltine

I’ll take Jimmy John’s over that other place this sub tries to market to me any day

  4. Remote-Ad7879

….. so uh…. Do you know what a John is?

  5. SovietChewbacca

Jimmy John’s advertises fast sandwhiches, thats about it.

  6. Endlesstrash1337

JJs is a good go to. I’ll take them over most fast food sammich places tbh.

  7. WashGodMega

I hate sammys like that. Just cut all the way through the bread and layer it so i get an even amount of everything in each bite; not this bite of a garden then a bite of meat …

  8. tacocollector2

JJ’s is fine but it’s never my first choice.

  9. _Stank_McNasty_

You either added lettuce or they have some weird lettuce problems at that location

  10. JJ is fine but Jersey Mike’s is the superior national sandwich chain. I might even take a Schlotzkys sandwich over JJ too tbh but JJ is fine.

  11. SpeedyGunzalez

I’m not usually a big fan of Jimmy John’s. I just don’t like their sub bread it’s always a little hard and chewy. HOWEVER, this new toasted sub thing has changed the game. The toasted Italian is fire!

  12. ZzzSleep

JJ is just the definition of fine to me. I’ll eat it but never seek it out.

  13. FattyB314

If it’s what you have go for it. Enjoy your sandwich, but don’t you have a local deli? Chain restaurants destroy some really good local businesses not because of the quality of the food.

  14. XThePlaysTheThingX

Entirely dependent on location. Some places you’ll get a decent looking sandwich like this one. Other locations….not so much. It’s my understanding that JJ was recently purchased by private equity. If that’s the case they are probably headed on a downward trajectory.

That second pic is why I don’t like jimmy johns. The toppings all spill out and all the meat is squished to one side. That place hasn’t made a proper sub sandwich this century. Food quality is mid, the way they build their subs is trash.

  16. SaintsFanPA

JJs is fine if you live in the sub desert that is much of the country. When I lived in Seattle, I ate them a fair bit. Now, living in the Northeast, I have access to any number of local delis that offer a better product (I don’t think it remotely close, in fact).

  17. spacefaceclosetomine

Their owner is trash, I will never. The “free smells” sign they use in an are frequented by homeless people was enough for me, let alone the big game hunting.

  18. Immediate_Apple_7676

Certainly not on a Sunday, bagel sandwiches only. Because they’re holy.

  19. ValPrism

Yeah, I mean, if you don’t have deli’s as a normal part of your neighborhood, the chains are fine. It’s the same with all food really.

  20. therealjameshat

only an option if the only other option is subway

  21. Used-Acanthisitta-96

Meh. I can make a sandwich at home. I go out to eat for food I don’t make at home.

Not to mention the inane way they put all the meat on one side and the veggies on the other.

  22. iwantthisnowdammit

I live in Publix land, so it’s tough to pay such a premium for Jimmy John’s. Sub looks good though.

  23. opossum_launcher

They have committed the sin of the left all veg and right double meat.

  24. Gnarly_Sarley

I which there bread wasn’t always so stale

  25. StrategicCarry

My biggest complaint about James Jonathan’s is that no location I’ve ever been to can quarter a pickle into four roughly equal parts.

  26. caryn1477

Eh, each time I’ve tried it it’s just okay.

  27. Me too, I worked there for almost ten years and still love it. The jalapeño chips are the best chips money can buy imo

  28. GeologistAway6352

I love JJs over many others, including Firehouse and trash Subway. It’s second to Jersey Mike’s.

  29. dumbledwarves

Pretty good for a chain. Way better than Subway and Firehouse, though I think Jersey Mikes is a little better (but also more expensive and I hate Mike’s way). I am always satisfied with what I get from them, but I do prefer a crustier roll.

  30. runs_with_airplanes

I like JJ subs, I’m just not a fan of the owner, so I choose to support other local sub shops

  31. _SundaeDriver

I’m definitely a sandwich snob. I live in Philly. I can go anywhere and know it would be better than JJ

  32. shaved-yeti

I don’t eat fast food as a general rule, but the JJ in my town does a pretty decent sandwich. It’s not often, but on days we’re too tired to cook, we’ll get an order, and generally enjoy it – I go for the east coast whatever with salami and coppa.

  33. marklikeadawg

I like their unwiches and their pickles but their bread is nasty.

  34. aChunkyChungus

Easily the best fast food sandwich place. Suck it jersey mikes

  35. jaemiomac

The bread is everything!! Ppl love their Jersey Mike’s but for me it’s not even close bc of the bread

  36. animalsbetterthanppl

Beach club no tomatoes is where it’s at

  37. sherzisquirrel

The owner of Jimmy John’s is a disgusting big game ” hunter” that likes to pay money to go kill animals. He killed one of the last white rhinos and loves to pose with a huge smile and their lifeless bodies. I would literally rather starve than give that company any money.

  38. Knight2337

Also their salt and vinegar chips are to die for. I get like three bags every time I go lol

  39. Live-Oven-8268

So if you bought on the left side you get a nice salad. If you buy it on the right side you get a bunch of meat. There’s hardly a place where you get both. Whoever made this sandwich needs a lesson

Bring back Dijon and Jimmy Mustard you corpo bastards!
