New York landed six new Michelin stars for 2025, bringing its tally to 72 starred restaurants, plus four Green stars for sustainability. The biggest news for 2025 is that Sushi Sho, the Japanese spot from Keiji Nakazawa, was bumped up to three stars. It joins Eleven Madison Park, Le Bernardin, and Per Se as having reached the pinnacle of fine dining accolades. Among two stars, Joo Ok from Hand Hospitality is celebrating its move from one to two Michelin stars. It joins a collection of 15, two-star restaurants around the city.

There are 52 one-starred restaurants, down from 55 last year. New York City restaurants that have lost stars include the Musket Room, Sushi Amane, Red Paper Clip (which closed), Sushi Ichimura (also closed), One White Street (but kept its green star), and Clover Hill (closed), having lost a star. Masa dropped from three to two stars before the ceremony on Tuesday, November 18 at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts. Here’s where to find this year’s winners.
