Iconic Design & Enhanced Sustainability Come Together in a Refined Bottle

February 16, 2026 (Narbonne, France) — Leading South of France wine producer, Gérard Bertrand is proud to unveil a refreshed new bottle for its iconic Cote des Roses Rosé (AOP Languedoc; SRP: $17.99), marking an important evolution in both design and sustainability. The Cote des Roses team redesigned the bottle of its award-winning wine by decreasing its weight to reduce its carbon footprint, while simultaneously elevating its elegance by embossing the signature rose emblem directly into the glass, further enhancing its distinctive style.
First introduced in 2013, Cote des Roses is instantly recognizable thanks to its sculptural bottle, whose rose-shaped base was originally imagined in 2010 by young French designer Mélitine Courvoisier, then a student at the prestigious École Boulle in Paris. Created for a design competition organized by glassmaker Verallia, her concept playfully titled “Soirée à Rosé” was born from a simple yet powerful idea: “Wine is traditionally offered to men, flowers to women. By turning the bottle upside down, I brought the two together.”
Serving on the competition’s jury, Gérard Bertrand immediately recognized the emotional and symbolic strength of the design. The connection was instant: Cote des Roses had found its perfect vessel. Gérard Bertrand supported the young designer in bringing her vision to life, with Verallia transforming the original concept into a commercial bottle — now one of the most iconic silhouettes in the global rosé category.
Produced in the Languedoc AOP in the South of France, home of the the best rosés in the world, Cote des Roses Rosé is a celebration of the Mediterranean art de vivre. Crafted from a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, the wine offers bright, ripe fruit flavors balanced with coastal freshness – ideal for sharing with friends and loved ones. The wine boasts aromas of red fruits, blackcurrant and gooseberry, which are complemented by floral notes of rose and subtle hints of grapefruit. The palate is fresh and aromatic, delivering a delicious, lively finish with notes reminiscent of English candy.
Since its launch in 2013, Cote des Roses has expanded its global distribution to 175 countries and is available nationwide throughout the U.S. at various retailers including Total Wine & More, Target, Walmart, Costco, Kroger and more. Cote des Roses Rosé is also available for purchase here. For more information on Gérard Bertrand, visit https://gerard-bertrand.shop/ and @gerardbertrandofficial.
