Local owners eager to share the fast-casual restaurant’s fresh, house-made Mediterranean cuisine with guests in Utah’s “Festival City”
Cedar City, UT (RestaurantNews.com) The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill®, the growing brand known for delicious meals inspired by classic cuisine, is opening a new location at 565 S. Main St., close to downtown Cedar City. Fulfilling its mission to Live Great. Eat Greek., every dish is made fresh and in-house from authentic recipes passed down generation after generation. Guests will find a wide variety of customizable options, including the Classic Greek Salad and Rice Bowl with a choice of Gyro Meat, Salmon, or several other protein choices. They can also indulge in unique offerings like fresh, made-to-order Feta Fries, and must-have desserts like Baklava Ice Cream and Rice Pudding.
The new restaurant is owned by Phillip Geurts and his business partner, Alex Lignell, who hope to open at least one other location of the brand in the future.
“We love Greek food and we’ve always loved The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill’s recipes, so we’re excited to bring this new and super-fresh eatery to this community,” said Geurts, an attorney with more than a decade of experience running restaurants. “We’re proud to continue the brand’s tradition of serving flavorful recipes that have stood the test of time while also pleasing the modern palate.”
Lignell also brings a decade of experience running and operating restaurants to their new venture.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill also specializes in catering large parties, events and meetings. “It’s hard to choose a favorite here, but I love the Garlic Shrimp Souvlaki. It’s so good,” Guerts said. “We grill two skewers of jumbo shrimp and serve them with a choice of Rice Pilaf, French Fries or Feta Fries, plus pita bread. You can also choose Souvlaki with grilled steak or Australian lamb. Whatever you go for, it’s a delicious choice.”
As part of the Cedar City launch celebrations, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill invites the public to attend a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, February 27 at 11:30 a.m. The owners will also be donating 20% of sales to the Utah Food Bank.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill’s new location seats 40 guests in the dining room and 15 outside, with a total 2,750-square-feet. Pick-up, catering and delivery options are also available. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
