

I can’t believe I’ve been baking sourdough for 5 years and only bought this now. After nearly slicing off my finger and having wildly inconsistent slice thicknesses no matter what knife I use, I finally bit the bullet and brought a bread slicer from Amazon. I’M OBSESSED
It took two minutes to slice the entire loaf into nice, thin slices that I can easily use for sandwiches.

I’ve almost lopped a finger off and I have the same issues, but I manage.
I really want one of these though!!!! Just hope the blades last.
Yeah Amazon decided I needed to get one of those bread slicers and started recommending them but I can’t justify $80+ for one even though they do look awesome.

I purchased one and like how it sliced the bread. But the suction cups lost their suction after a few weeks and then the slicer would not stay put when slicing. It was very hard to roll the handle and keep the unit stationary in one place. We were worried about losing a finger tip so we threw it away before we were sorry. But I did really like having uniform bread slices.
This looks like the same exact blade from my meat slicer so now I am thinking there is likely no difference between a standard slicer and a bread slicer. Could be a speed differential I guess? Will test out my theory on my next loaf. Thanks!

I just got one of these too. I was using an electric knife but this is way better. I’ve tried slicing cheese and it works well for that too.
Are you slicing same day? I have a hard time with mine getting into my bread when it’s still crusty. Works like a dream on day 2.
