Im still new to canning in general (and posting on reddit) and i would like some extra "eyes" on this. I pretty much only use Ball jars for context.
last night i pressure canned 4 jars- cold packed, with meat and veggies. 1 in headspace, debubbled well.
When I opened the canner, I found something Id never seen before. One jar broke clean in half while processing. After pulling it out of the canner I realized it didn't have the "Ball" marking and Google tells me it's a golden harvest jar. I have no idea how this jar ended up in my kitchen so its very possible it had an adventure before it came to me and had a blemish I didnt see when I was washing it. This was also my first time using superb flats.
Any thoughts?

Golden Harvest is Ball by a different name.
Can you tell me what “cold packed” means and what recipe you followed? I’m only familiar with Your Choice soup as a meat and veggie pressure canning one-jar meal and that’s a hot pack.
Jars break occasionally. New jars, old jars they all break occasionally. I probably have 2-4+ break a year. I can a couple hundred jars every year.
I’ve used golden harvest for years with no issue so it was probably just this jars’ day. If it was a new jar it could have just had a weak spot – from being dropped or something like that during shipping to you or to the store.
Until recently, i predominantly use golden harvest because it’s more cost effective especially on larger family scale. I can’t say I’ve had any significant issues in comparison. All jars can fail. Golden harvest are made by Jardin same as Ball and Bernardin. This clean break looks like a temperature break.
Golden harvest jars are made by the same company as ball and Kerr. This sort of thing happens sometimes, it doesn’t matter the brand.
