Has anyone heard this from their sous vide? There's no specific reason (that I can tell) why it happens. Sometimes it'll stop on it's own in a few seconds, sometimes I turn it off then on, and sometimes it only stops the sound after it continues for a while. It'll happen early in the cycle or after it's been up to temp for hours.

Any idea of a fix, or is the fix to shop for a new one?

**This is a generic reminder message under every image post**

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

had this issue with ours for like a year on and off, and then the thing eventually died, not sure what the cause one and if the early death (just under 4 years old but with heavy use) was the cause of it.

Probably a bearing going out in the unit. Makes noise until the parts line up again for a while, then when the geometry goes bad, it starts making noise again.
