Enjoyed this steak. Its a 8oz tenderloin. What would you rate the doneness and sear?

It had a nice sear on it. Definitely Medium to Medium Well. If that’s the temp you were going for, you nailed it.

Yummy!
I gotta ask: why do you slice up your whole steak at once? Is it to flex your doneness by showing the inside of all of the slices? Or do you actually eat steaks that way? I am honestly asking for my own enlightenment. I freakin *love* steaks, but I am a slice-as-you-go kinda guy. Let me know if I’m missing something, besides cooler bites…?

Looks like medium well but the picture lighting might be washing it out a little, so possibly medium.

Medium well.
Looks lovely, even if I prefer it rarer than that. Good example that a more done steak doesn’t need to be dry and leathery.

Medium well bordering on well done.

If you wanted medium well its perfect 👌🏽 medium or medium well is how i like my steaks too. I ask for medium at restaurants but i dont use a thermometer so when i make them myself they usually turn out more like this, since i prefer that to medium rare

What is going on lmao, is this like a joke in this sub with calling stuff medium well???
That’s between medium rare and medium…

Well done.

Medwell, not far from well done. I wouldn’t cook tenderlion past rare/medrare. It’s probably the least forgiving cut on the animal.
