Not the best vintage but this wine has developed favorably with age. The cooler year definitely shows in a lighter bodied caberneet, but w/ high acid that shines. Get lots of crunchy red fruit (raspberry, boysenberry, dark cherry, red jolly rancher) earth of fern, moss, definitely a green component form the cool year but it's pleasant, and mineral of wet volcanic, and elegant secondary of toasted wood and pipe.

A little more acid than concentration. Could easily age another 10 years.

Good to know for a 2014 that I’ll keep tucked away for awhile more. Great review!

  2. 2011 was a tough vintage, but good winemakers still made good wine!
