I’m trying to balance heirlooms and hybrids this year. I typically grow mostly heirlooms but I want at least *some* of my plants to survive past August so I think some hybrids will help with that lol, blight was rough last year.

  2. I grew those honeycomb tomatoes last year. They were sweet and delicious.

  3. Honeycomb are great! If you want a great Burpee variety for next year, try Brandy Boy!

I can relate to adding a blight resistant hybrid to the mix. I’m doing the same this year to see how it stacks up.

Yup I do the same, I have different varities due to being in england but I go for a mix of types, I have some heirloom beefsteak, but also some solid performing hybrids. As well as come cherry and slicing/salad size.
It is all about hedging my bets, if the weather is poor the beefsteaks wont perform well at all, so a hybrid with extra risitance and smaller fruits for faster production but beefsteak for flavour!

Honeycomb is our favorite cherry! Even over Sungold 😬🤫

Have you successfully grown Green Zebra from seed? I tried last year but it’s F1 and didn’t come true to type. I got some tasty mystery tomatoes that were reddish and small, but not Green Zebra.

I see you have Prairie Fire. Are those the ‘new’ ones that are elongated striped cherries?

Back in the 2010s there was a Prairie Fire that grew out as red beefsteaks on a determinate plant. They. were. so. good. I miss them!

The tie dye is a great tomato. Not high yielding but huge tomatoes
