Stayed home from work today with the flu and definitely did not feel like cooking.

My lunch today was the chicken and orzo with lemon soup (200cal) and half a toasted pita (110cal) dipped in half a cup of low fat cottage cheese (80cal) mixed with a tablespoon of salsa con queso (25cal). The dip was stupid delicious.

When I first got started on this adventure, canned soups were so vital. I knew how many calories were in it, they’re easy and high volume.

And a bit of extra sodium might not be the worst thing if it encourages you to drink more liquids when you’re sick. And if you’re achy, the electrolytes might make you feel better

Hope you feel better soon. my lazy go to is Amy’s split pea and frozen Riced cauliflower. you took care of yourself and stayed on healthy mean plans. what a win.

  3. When you’re sick with the flu is actually the perfect time to eat high sodium foods! There’s a reason Gatorade and other hydration drinks have a shit ton of sodium

Balance out the sodium with some high potassium foods. I use low sodium v8 typically.

Aw hope you feel better soon! 💛

Sodium shmodium when you’re feeling sick, getting food in at all is priority. And honestly as long as you’re drinking water and keeping hydrated, it’s not the worst thing you could be eating.
