These were at one of those interstate truck stop style gas stations. So the prices aren’t the best but man… why can’t we get something like this in the US? Look at how green the lettuce is. Look at that great!

Prices aren’t the best? Isn’t that like roughly $9.50 in US dollars? Those would easily by $12-$15 in the US if they looked like that.

The gas station arancini were pretty amazing also

Because in the US they’d be $15 each and they’d sell so slowly that the lettuce would brown and the meat would get crusty.

As an Italian, I can say you’ve actually been lucky. Usually at the same price you get way smaller sandwiches, and they usually don’t have that much fillings in them.

I still think of the gas station sandwiches in France from 20+ years ago.

I’m so hungry I could eat a sandwich from a gas station!

I had gas station pasta in Italy heated up fresh in a skillet with my choice of sauce ❤️

That’s less than the price of a much lower quality Panera sandwich.

Yes, Italy has by far and away the best gas station food I’ve ever tried.
